Having completed her Master of Interpreting & Translation Studies in 2017, Jes concurrently attained both NAATI accreditations in Translation at Professional Level (Chinese>English) and Interpreting at Professional Level (English<>Chinese).
In January 2016, Jes participated in the 5th Annual Beijing Language and Cultural University (BLCU) International Translation & Interpreting Competition while mourning her father’s sudden passing and did him proud by clinching the Special Prize in Chinese-English Translation Division amongst thousands of participants worldwide. BLCU is ranked as the #1 Language and Translation University in China, and Jes was the only participant from Australia and Singapore to make the winners’ list.
In June 2016, Jes was very honored to be invited as part of the AUSIT Communications, Promotions and Public Relations Committee (CPPRC). The Australian Institute of Interpreters and Translators (AUSIT) is the national association for the translating and interpreting profession. On behalf of AUSIT, Jes organized for the joint collaboration of AUSIT and AALITRA (Australian Association for Literary Translation) to support the esteemed Chinese Writers Festival 2016 organized by Writers Victoria.

Harnessing 12 years of corporate work experience with 10 years in banking and finance institutional sales and foreign exchange trading, Jes is an adept specialist in financial texts. In fact, one of the world’s biggest investment bank Goldman Sachs selected Jes to be on their ALL-STAR External Linguist Team.
Other than her current Master of Interpreting & Translation studies program, Jes holds a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Business Administration from Ottawa University and a Diploma in Mass Communications from the prestigious Ngee Ann Polytechnic. A trained media practitioner, Jes is skilled in journalism and copywriting with work stints in advertising, events management, radio broadcasting, corporate communications and investor relations (financial communications). From crafting press releases or marketing collaterals (brochures, factsheets, presentations) and financial reports to translating legal contracts or resumes and interpreting for client meetings, Jes has extensive professional experiences that few in the English-Chinese translation industry can match.
